Reading this, sent chills down my spine and has taken a long time for me to even write it as a topic. The author is unknown but running across this on e-mail made me think twice as a Chrisitian about how I live. I realize even now more then ever that many of us have been walking an unrighteous path and we need to get back on track before it is to late. You see JESUS died for all of our sins and why do we keep punishing him? As you read it be prepared for the harsh words that jump out, and ask yourself if you are a CHRISITIAN which path would you prefer to take? As this letter that was sent to me , has me re -thinking how I am as a Christian.
A Letter To You From SATAN
I saw you yesterday as you began your daily chores, you awoke without kneeling to pray. As a matter of fact, you didn't even bless your food,or pray before going to bed last night. You are unthankful,I LIKE THAT ABOUT YOU!! I cannot tell you how glad I am that you have not changed your way of living. FOOL, you are mine.Remember, you and I have been going steady for years, and I STILL DON'T love you yet. and never will,but your to blind to believe that. As a matter of fact,I HATE YOU!!! because I HATE JESUS!! I'm ONLY USING YOU to get even with JESUS for defeating me on the cross. GOD kicked me out of heaven and I am going to use you as long as possible to pay him back. you see,FOOL, JESUS LOVES YOU and HE has great plans and blessings in store for you ,but,like a silly fool,you have yielded your life to me and I promise to make your life a living HELL. That way we will be together not once, but twice. This will really HURT JESUS.Thanks to your weak self I'm really showing JESUS who's boss in your life,you know, with all the good times we have and are having together.We have been teling dirty jokes,watching porno's together,cursing people out,telling dirty jokes,stealing,lying.fornicating,being hypocritical,gossiping,overeating,being judgemental,backstabbing people,disrespecting the adults and the ministers in leadership. We have no respect for the church and we have very NASTY attitudes,oh and don't forget we've been murdering, raping and killing and do not go to church as we have to many things to do. We even cheated on your spouse together and dabbled in the uknown,remember? SURELY,you don't want to give up all of that stuff,right? GOOD, so we can all burn in HELL together.I'm going to love your company while we are in torment together forever. I got some HOT plans for us. This is just a letter of appreciation from me to you. "THANKS" for letting me use you ,most of your foolish LIFE....you are so gullible,I laugh at you all of the time.When you ar tempted to sin, you give in HA HA HA, you make me sick. Sin is beginning to take its toll on your life.You look 20 years older,and now I need fresh meat and new blood. So go ahead and teach some children to sin. All you have to do is smoke,get drunk,or drunk while underaged,cheat,gossip,have sex outside of marriage and be as selfish as possible and maybe even a little gang banging or smoke a little weed. Oh yea,I almost forgot I would like to thank you for promoting my music. You really help me promote sex,drugs,violence, and anger for no apparent reason. It has caused the death rate of young people to quadruple,so hell is getting filled up faster thanks to you. Do all this in the presence of children and they will do it too. They do the same thing you do. Kids are like that...Well,FOOL.I have to let you go for now.I'll be back in a couple of seconds to tempt you again. If you were SMART you would run somewhere,confess your sins,repent and be baptized in JESUS name for the remission of sins and the HOLY GHOST and then hide the word of GOD in your heart,PUT ON the whole armor of GOD so that you can be able to withstand all of the wild tricks that I'm gonna play with you FOOL. If I were you,I would LIVE for JESUS with what you little bit of life you have left.It'snot my nature at all to warn anyone,but to be your age and still sin,has become a little bit ridiculous,don't you think? People are coming down here in droves,due to the FACT that more people are acting like FAKE CHRISTIANS now then there has ever been in the history of the church. I have more fools like you who continue to sit in churches and live like me. I like it when I sit in the dead church and feel comfortable living like a fool,hey keep it up and I'll be assured of being with you throughout eternity. Guess what I am tricking more fools, like you now than I have ever before,FOOL!!!
Don't get me wrong ,I still hate your guts!! IT'S JUST THAT YOU WOULD MAKE A BETTER FOOL FOR CHRIST!!
P.S. If you really LOVE me, you wouldn't share this letter with anyone.
Final thoughts
This letter is spreading as a mock of God's people , of those who are Chrisitans we need to stand up and take a stand for JESUS and let SATAN know that we are the winners and the champions for JESUS CHRIST. When JESUS is the center of your life ,everything in your life evolves around him. Stop pointing fingers at what is right or wrong and start working on yourselves as we are supposed to be followers of JESUS not mockers.
We have all sinned and deserve God's judgement ,GOD the father, sent his only Son to satisfy that judgement for those who believe in him,Jesus the creator and eternal Son of God,who lived a sinless life, loves us with all of his heart and has died for our sins,taking the punishment that we deserve,was buried,and rose from the dead according to the Bible.
If you are holding on and living the life ,and really are going through trials and tribulations,keep holding on because your redemption draws near, Jesus is still the answer. (Acts 2:38)

I understand these are not from GOD as I am Christian and the point I hope to get across is that Jesus is the WAY , the Truth and the Light. It was hard enough for me to write it and yes I haev read the Bible as we all have sinned and fallen short from the Glory of God. I am not trying to encourage hate as I am definitely far from that as I have more friends from every walk of life that a peson can imagine. Do re read as it does not come from GOD!!!
This Hub presents to me an example of a person who is caught in the dark side. I beleive we all have a negative and self-destructive side that can be controlled and overcome. Thanks for reading it as it was hard for me to write and scared the lights out of me, I thought I would share it as I love the Lord and I can't stand when someone mocks him .It does appear dark as it was sent to me through an email .I certainly will ready yours :)
I agree it is dark (very dark), but Satan’s kingdom is a kingdom of darkness. To me this portrays a person who is Christian in name only and there are many among us.
I’m not making this statement as judgmental for God is not finished with me. We who are in the family of God (Christians) by the blood of Christ have enough sins of our own to confess.
True Christians long to serve God faithfully in spite of our failures. Just look at Jacob, David, and Peter. I could go on through the Bible. All of them failed and kept moving forward.
God paints His heroes with their blemishes in full view. Only God is perfect, and I am only perfect because He covered me with the righteousness of Christ. To be clear, I am only perfect when I'm seen through Christ Who is perfect.
John 3:16 says all that needs to be said.

Very powerful topic. Thanks for postings. I read this and agree we all need to improve our faith and love with Christ. Also I can see a christain writing, who has became very upset with the way christains behave, and living a life of sin against Christ. and what he is writing is what he see's us behaving as christains. maybe this is the only way he knew to open our eyes and realize we need to start living the life that God has lead us to live.

It's highly unbelievable to me. I consider Lucifer the smartest non-deity creature in the universe, to write something like this letter, something so mundane and totally un-deceitful is...well, against his character to be precise. I prefer the Screwtape Letters frankly, as the whole approach is entirely chilling and intellectual (as Satan is, thus he would produce). After all, we're talking about the guy who persuaded perfect sinless humans to sin against the God they walked with. Even if you hate him, which is perfectly acceptable, give credit where it's due. He'll meet his end with the rest of those who have joined his side, but regardless of that fact, he nothing as simple as a guy who tells you he takes pleasure in simplicity.

I don't think it is helpful to let the mind dwell on this sort of stuff. The Screwtape Letters, like parts of the Bible, is good literature, but neither Screwtape nor the Bible itself is proof of the existence of either God or Satan. Why not just let it go?
Paraglider, I respect your opinion and thoughts however I can't let it go as GOD put it on my heart to write it. My spirit convicted me of it, since I do believe in God and I understand you question it, I am entitled to express my thoughts as well as a non-believer is allowed to express there's is that not correct? So this is why I cannot let it go as my Lord and Saviour I defend and protect as he has brought me through some times in my life when nothing else did. I cannot question GOD however I do know he is there, as much as you can't seem to figure out how we can believe. Maybe one day and I will pray for you, you will get the answers I did.:) again thank you for your comments and thoughts :)

I almost didn't comment on this hub. This can certainly be a very controversial subject. But, here I am commenting. I do agree that people who call themselves Christians should really evaluate what that means and decide if they are REALLY Christians or are they just people who believe in God. There is a difference.
I could say a lot more on this, but I'll end with, wow, that was quite a letter.

I am very happy with the Lord as I didn't write the letter to satan I was simply sharing it as stated in my overview Iasked all to be prepared and it simply had me re think how I was walking with GOD as although I am a Christian there were times when I did not do right by him, and I also wanted to open others eyes as well. As How could we tell you to see what we has done, when we have to get it together with ourselves? I have seen many hubs where people have questions however many of us cannot and should not comment or be judgemental unfortunately as we are not acting right ourselves. So how could many of us lead those who are lost , to God ? Honestly we can't until we get our lives in perspective. I sincerely value , your thoughts and opinion.

There are some who are very judgemental and there are some who walk righteously with GOD , as I as a Christian know I have faults I cannot push what I believe onto others until I wawlk righteously myself. I only wanted others to open there eyes as well and take a look at themselves as well as I commented to "Paraglider" how can many of us lead others when we still have to work on ourselves.? Wow, you opened a can of worms there now didn't you! Yes controversy is always the case when we start to talk about God. I am reading your stuff since you read mine...wow...good though. Christ Jesus is the way, the Bible is the word, but unfortunatly until you are reborn in spirit none of this can make sense, it just can't make sense at all until the Holy Spirit puts it in you and shows you the truth. Once the truth is known the whole world is different...He shows you what is really going on and then the Bible makes perfect sense, everything is clear, and all you can do is humble yourself in thanks...and then love everyone...forgive and love...

Oh boy, as a non Christian I say Jesus is not the answer, self transformation is. In doing so Satan is not ignored but devalued like goods that are past their use by date.
I believe this was actually written by a Christian mainly because this is the tactic used to engender guilt and shame.
I agree with t-keeley, Lucifer is a highly itelligent force, this letter is by a 5th grader in comparison.
Someone once said the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was getting people to believe he doesn’t exist.
I think the next thing he did was to invent religion a counterfeit to a real relationship with God. Think about it? Then once its in place create religious racism and it will multiply like a virus .Just look at how religion has infected some people how they all become like clones of each other and control each other and how man is the head of religion.
Can you imagine if you were to treat your wife or friends in a religious way, I don’t think those relationships would last very long, no new life or true love and after a while it would be like a really bad version of the step ford wife’s.
Heck I grew up in Ireland and as most people know that had a religious war for hundreds of years, Catholics verses Proddy`s.
The Middle east, Bosnia and look at the united states 1000`s of Christian churches in competion for numbers or membership, mega churches and all crying out for money and building programs and conferences, its a billion dollar industry and then you have the TV churches , they are like mini info mercials........God for sale...
No I honestly believe Satan has created religion as a counterfeit to a true loving spirit led relationship with a loving God...Think about it! Would any Healthy parent who loves their child and wants them to truly live a life of promise, excitement and hope send them to a religious church? Heck no! it would suck the life out of them.

This is a great hub. My pastor preaches that while we are sitting in church on Sunday mornings, to look around, that over half of those sitting in church with us wont be in Heaven with us. You are so right, we do need to wake up. And I do feel that you have studied the Bible and this was heavy on your heart to write. I admire you for doing so, because when you share things that God tells you to, so often you are criticized. Which I see you have already found out. But don't mind those who talk negative to you. Satan doesn't write letters. He dines on the dust of the Earth (that's us). He is devouring the carnal flesh of those who believe in the stupid christian hell myth. You haven't a spiritual bone in your body if you believe in such crap. God is Love. If you think He is going to torture people for all eternity, well then Satan is receiving much pleasure at your blind expense.

Well AEvans, you certainly got near all the judgemental ones on your excellent hub . Portraying the devil at work to let us all know how very evil we are and how we need to ask God for forgiveness even as he forgave us for killing him while he was yet on the cross. Only God, Jesus, Holy Spirit can judge and we are not to do that. You portray todays evil world just as it is and we need all repent and work at being as Jesus would have us be. Loving and kind, caring for the poor and homeless, giving of our riches to anyone who has not, loving our enemies and turning the other cheek. It is not easy to be Christian and all need to work at it diligently, particularly when we begin to critique others.

I already gave comment but I don't see it present anymore, that's discriminative. I read the letter and I can tell you that the one who did write that letter is NOT a real Satanist. Most people don't know what it really is, what it stands for. Those who read the Satanic bible have read in the rules to live by, that one must not use violence,nor rape, and so on !!! I can send a copy of that rule out of the Satanic bible from the related website to prove it. All those who commit violence, crimes and more of evil are NOT REAL Satanits, they misuse His name and they will be punished severely by satan as well. Satanist are made bad by religions, only of reason to justify their own believes and that also include Christians, muslims and all other reliogians that abuse Satan !!!
Satan is evil and the letter is to bring to Christians who he is and what he does. Satan is not a kind spirit he is a fallen angel of God and he is strictly evil, so why in the World would you paint such a rosey picture? That Satanic Bible is to merely draw you in to something quite sinister, however your comment has been posted and thank you for your opinion. :)

Ive also read the satanic bible. I don't follow it, but if you actually were open to reading it, youll get a much better understanding on another religion that many refuse to understand, and that many misunderstand-
but I will have to agree... this letter was written by some teenie boppin kid. You can tell by the poor use of words, and formations of sentences.
MellasViews: I do agree that it was written by someone young. however it is somewht interesting. In regards to reading the Satanic Bible I don't wish to refuse to understand however I do not know if reading it would be the correct thing to do. I hope that Chris writes an article on it, so that we can see what he has to say about as maybe that would be a great article for him. :)
I also read it about 25 or 30 years ago. It isn't really all that impressive. For example, one chapter tells how God can't exist, and the following chapter tells how bad God is.
One chapter talks about how to be peaceful and the next tells how to extract revenge, on anyone that makes you mad.
As far as the quality of satan's work over the centuries, this one was pretty pathetic. It didn't flow well or read well. It rambled on. I always thought it got a lot more attention than it deserved, but it was targeted at the Rebelious american youth of the 60's who were enamoured with Charles Manson and Son of Sam, and so, it sold. Evidently it still attracts the dis-enfranchised youth.
Im a book collector. I have a first edition of the book, I believe it will fetch around $1,500 at auction. I don't plan on selling it though. I did however read it, and it was rather interesting. I imagine a first edition bible would fetch far more money though. : )

Wow...5 months of comments on here. I had to read to see all that was said, and quite frankly I was very surprised. I am a strong believer in Christ and Love the Lord with all my heart. I too have to witness daily the "fake Christians" out there, and I am greatly saddened that we are not mature enough to realize what you meant by posting this letter. Yes, it may have been written by a younger person, and yes, it may have went on and on...but its the point that we have to look at. The devil only comes to kill, steal and destroy! He always uses the same tactics to tempt us, but we somehow fail to see them. I want to thank you personally for following the leading of the Holy Spirit you will greatly be rewarded! We can never go wrong for following his voice. You are a strong leader and I am very impressed by your responses. Keep on keeping on…the Lord is on your side.

well while I believe Jesus died for our sins, and warn my kids about the whole satan thing and be careful not to invite him in, I think there are a lot of places the trickster is working, a bit of booze and rock and roll ain't ruffling Jesus' feathers. Jesus drank wine, his first miracle was wine for a wedding party. plus I think it's better to lead folks toward God with goodness, not inciting fear of Elvis.
Hi Dolores: I believe rockin' and roll is meaning groups like AC/DC that I listened to as a teenager, there are some interesting messages in those lyrics as I knew them verbatim. We are not talking about Elvis..:) Jesus did drink wine so we are not saying do not drink. I wrote this months ago, when Jesus placed it upon my heart to do it. wow. i finally got to the comment box. you certainly stirred the pot. my two cents, and that's all its worth. i hope it doesn't cost me more. i have to wonder at some of the, i shall call them 'louder' comments, that you might have to struggle to respond to. it seems people sometimes look too closely at the details of something and not at the big picture. it's a letter. i, now that's only me personally, feel fairly certain it was composed by human hand. rather than argue over who wrote it, i think the question begs to be asked why was it written and what was the intent. the possibility has to be allowed for that there was inspiration there from some source, God or Satan. but it could also have been put out there simply to watch how many people get upset over it. it should only matter with regards to what it means to the reader and what they intend to do about it with regards to their own life.
i believe in knowledge. i believe in the journey. i believe no one has the right to point their finger and condemn. i'm Catholic and have been told i commit the sin of idolatry. i always pray to God and Jesus Christ, yes, every night and every morning and try to keep Him in my heart all through the day, and i had thought i was only having a conversation with St. Jude of the hopeless causes because he and i have something in common. who knew?
i think you did a good thing posting this hub and you handled yourself well up there. religions and politics are difficult topics to discuss because they affect us so intimately. no one wants to be wrong but with such diverse feelings and thoughts, how can everyone be right? i've always clung to faith rather than religion and politics. i've always favored the Golden Rule (do unto others), the Hippocratic Oath (first, do no harm), and Pascal's wager about the existence of God. "If you erroneously believe in God, you lose nothing (assuming that death is the absolute end), whereas if you correctly believe in God, you gain everything (eternal bliss). But if you correctly disbelieve in God, you gain nothing (death ends all), whereas if you erroneously disbelieve in God, you lose everything (eternal damnation)."

Oh I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve. I have completed eight different bible studie courses. I do apply principles of what I learned to my life.
"Your word I have hidden in my heart so that I might not sin against you" Psalm 119:11 is the first lesson that I kept. As I studied i memorized scripture that I could apply to my life that day or that "pulled" at me. I had four legal bound pages, front and back, memorized when all was said and done. Whenever something came up in my life and I needed an answer many times one of those quotes would pop into my head.

Hey, a good read and a topic of interest to me, I spent the first 25 years of my life or so completely devoid of any kind of religious thought whatsoever, and then I began to suffer from periods of something called 'sleep paralysis', (google it if you're not sure what it is), and whilst it has a perfectly convincing scientific explanation, I like many I've spoken to who have endured it couldn't help but feel very unerved by it, and convinced that there was something more sinister at its root. I quite possibly had never prayed before, if I had it was when I was very young, but during a particularly nasty episode of SP I prayed in my sleep/dream/or whatever it is, and it immediatley stopped. This tactic has also stopped short all episodes since, and they used to seem to last for a long long time (terrifying), I've definetely become more spiritual/religious in the last few years, but at the same time the weed and the gangbanging you mention above are just so hard to refrain from, I'll try to be stronger. Good Hub, thought provoking.

As I understand what you wrote, you appeared to be sending a message to all of us that we need to tighten up a little in our faith, that's all. I agree that the letter Is rudimentary at best , but without a doubt Is pretty much an Indictment of our modern society not just here In the USA but globally. Wow, I can't believe all the comments you've gotten about this hub! I personally thought the letter wasn't all that great, but I'm so glad to learn that you are a Christian. You were one of my very first followers on Hubpages! You have handled yourself extremely well and have not gotten upset or defensive about any of the negative comments, so I am very impressed by how you've handled it!
The letter is a good reminder to remain in an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. I am a Christian, but I stumble everyday and I sin everyday. But it's okay, because I am no longer defined by my sin & shortcomings! I am defined by Christ's blood that covers me, redeems me, and makes me whole. What a life of freedom, passion, and peace Christ has given all of us who believe in Him!
I think the letter focused too much on following rules, which is NOT what Christianity is all about. It is about having a personal, deep relationship with Christ, and letting Him be the Master of your life. If you do this, you will never be sorry.
Have you ever heard of anyone, who at their death bed, said, "I wish I never became a Christian?" No, because Christ truly is the Reason for living.
To those who do not believe that Hell exists or that Satan is purely evil--he has you right where he wants you. You will find out the truth someday, that Hell is a very real place of darkness apart from God, and that Satan wants nothing more than your demise. I pray that you learn these things before you die, or else it will be too late for you.
The Bible says that things such as this will seem like utter foolishness to those who don't believe as we do. So Christians should not be surprised or hurt when we face persecution or negativity. Jesus said it would happen!

Anyway I loved this letter , really says it like it is !!! for we battle not against flesh and blood ( each other) but war against heavenly powers and demonic powers. I didn't get to reading all of the comments and don't know if I'm repeating something another Christian might have said, but I know for one, when I fell away from my faith in Jesus and practiced all these things (or most of them, but even one is breaking them all), Satan reminds me of my sinful man, though I have repented and am so in love with Jesus now! Don't let him remind you of your past. Know that God does not remember your sin any longer. We are not saved by works and don't lose our salvation because we live in a body of sin (book of Romans), but we do want to be a faithful Bride of Christ in every way we can! Praise God! Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world writing these letters to rattle God's children!!

I am a christian, I DO sin...BUT: I pray a lot before I sleep, and pray even before getting up from the bed, and I bless my food and all what I drink, and cross my self before entering the church and my home, and I even know the exorcisme ritual, I serve the others and give good advices to them, and I dont accept repayment! So satan should hold his horse a little bit back ok?! There are still some good christians out there!! I get the feeling many people missed the point of this letter.We have a Christian magazine here that always has a letter from 'satan' in each edition.The purpose of the letters(very similar) is to remind us how we can play into satan's hands by turning our backs on God-just what satan wants after all.
It's not scaremongering -in my view-.These letters are actually usually written by very committed Christians,who recognise the many evil influences to which we are subjected ...and to which we could fall prey so easily...when we fail to keep our focus on Christ-our Saviour.

The Gospel message may be expressed in many ways and as His creatures we speak of Him and to Him as He leads and inspires us. He is the true Creator and we only stumble along in His footsteps.

There are enough comments without me tossing in another, but anyway I love this piece and how it reminds me of The Screwtape Letters by C.S.Lewis. A perspective that we need to keep solidly in our heads is that Satan is real and he plots to bring us down. Until we understand this we are as helpless babes in the woods.

I'd first like to say that I enjoyed this piece. I'm an atheist, but that doesn't mean that I'm against Christianity, or any other religion, for that matter. It seems a lot of people just assume that if you don't believe in God, you must be out to get those who do.

You are "assuming" everyone knows what is right and what is wrong. There are people out there whose definition of right smacks in the face of what you think is right. For example, one person thinks its perfectly normal and right to have as many sex partners as possible and that there is "nothing" wrong with it. They don't even think about the devastating consequences. Meanwhile, a person practicing the Christian faith is raised to believe that sex is sacred and to be shared with the one you marry. Now that the worldly morals are becoming more mainstream, we have higher rates of STDs, divorce, broken homes, abuse etc. even within the Christian population. So I think you are wrong to state that we all know what is right and wrong. Many people decide on their own what they feel is right and the Bible clearly states what is right and what is wrong but many today just don't care. The danger with that kind of free thinking you promote is that people like Hitler was getting the masses to think there was nothing "wrong" with killing all those Jews. It was clearly wrong!! We need God. We need him more than anything and this world is sooo corrupt now. Many people just don't care about right and wrong anymore. Your assumption is dangerous. Please be careful when you state we don't need God.
The bible is not manipulation. The Bible is the TRUTH. It is the truth that many don't want to hear because then they can't MANIPULATE others if they had to play fair and treat people with honor, dignity and respect.
Satan would loving nothing more than to have you believe that God is manipulating you. If anything, God is protecting you with WISDOM and LOVE. That my friend is not manipulation. Have you read the Bible? These words are not from God. They are fear mongering, which is anti-love. They are inspired to encourage your hate. Please do not in any way attribute such words to God.
