"Mom?", "mawwwwwmmm", Tristan shakes his mother's arm frantically, "what?" Adrianna replies, "shouldn't you be in bed?", "you have school tomorrow!" "I can't sleep, Tristan calmly says. Adrianna knew her son had been having nightmares but did not know why, when she was a child she also had nightmares because kids told her there was a boogey man. Adrianna knew all she could do was try to help him overcome his fear once she figured out what was scaring him. She placed the laptop aside realizing when she came back there will be a plethora of comments and replies waiting for her to read. Greased lightning was great at mud-slinging in the forums and many of his words normally did not make any sense, but nonetheless Danny was becoming irritated with his comments and replies all hell was getting read to break loose. Adrianna hugged her son and tousled his curly little locks as she got up from the large over-stuffed chair " Come on Tristan, let's go get some milk and cookies it's getting late."
Opening the door to the pantry all Adrianna could think about was the last comment made on the thread, " didn't people realize it was only Virtual?" she thought to herself. Lately people had been popping up like daisies in the springtime with more then one alter-ego some had a couple, while others had many. Made it kinda' fun reminded one of Sesame Street when you were a child, Cookie Monster was always trying to get other people's cookies, Big Bird was everyone friend and The Grouch, well he was just that ,The Grouch. "Hurry up Tristan get a couple of cookies, let's go." Adrianna said hurriedly. "It is 10:30 you have to get up early in the morning you have school." "I know mom, I'm sorry " "Tristan it was only a movie, Scary movies are make believe. "Son you need to get to bed, my husband replied " your mom's right it is late." People were playing characters on the threads she thought to herself, just like the adults on Sesame Street.
Getting up from the round glass table she went back into the family room once again plopping down on the big over sized stuffed chair . She could see Tristan clearly from where she sat but it had been a long day, she was needing some rest and relaxation. Clicking back into the forums Adrianna began to read once again hopping through threads before she entered the Twilight Zone thread. She knew that alter-egos were a heavy duty conversation besides religion. It was great seeing new hubbers interact in the threads, many were treading lightly, while others just dove right on in not concerned a bit about what others thought about them.
"What in the?" Adrianna screamed. "Honey,Please!" her husband yelled. "Shut that thing off since it appears to get you so worked up." "Oh Kiss my booty!" smiling they broke out laughing. "I will kiss your booty, bring it here." "Stop it!" Adrianna replied quietly, " Tristan is awake." she smiled and looked back down at the screen. "Who has how many alters?" "Why would anyone have so many alters?" she asked herself. " I only have one and it is commercial only, but these alters are talking to each other and they are the same person. " Wow!" Adrianna was speechless.
Why were people badgering there friends over so many alter-egos ? It certainly did not make any sense. Adrianna began to scroll, click , scroll , click , "what?" Adrianna stopped. " Don't comment unless you know what is going on?" exclaimed Danny, " Who do you think you are?" Greased Lightning roared. " Oh hell", Adrianna exclaimed "this should be a good one" settling in she began to read....
This hub has nothing to do with child abuse or abuse of a child, this hub has to due with the silly antics of what happens on the Internet and is no way intended to harm or badger anyone. If you are offended my apologies my recommendation is to read the hub again in its entirety it represents those who badger which is disrespectful when others are also entitled to there thoughts and opinions.

I like the part where talk about the egos of the writers. Sometimes I think some Hubbers have multiple personalities. This is a great little series you've started and I like it when we can laugh about each other.

I must say, I'm not sure if you knew it or not, but in real life my son was very much affected as a result of the "control by fear" use of the Nightmare On Elm Street movies way back when they first came out and my son was very young. His father made him watch them. He cried at night on the weekends and when I asked him what was wrong, he said "freddy was comming out of the wall to get him." I wrote a true story about it. For me, it's not a laughing matter. I hope you understand where I'm comming from. Thank you for any kindness.

AEvans, when my son was young and in my care the house rule was always, no R rated movies at all not even on TV. I hope your son's health inproves with the help of a doctor. Good to hear you did away with the R rated movies, AEvans.
susanlang: If he wishes to watch them when he is an adult that is fine but we will not have them in our home, it is quite traumatizing for a child and was certainly a lesson learned as a parent. Yes we are seeking assistance so that he can overcome the fears of things that are created. Thank you to for sharing your story about your child and his past experiences if we would have known as parents, we would not have made that choice.

SusanLang: The Title of the hub is about what is going on in the forums if you rad the story from front to back it has nothing to with the fear of our son at all, he just happened to be a character that was placed into a story, if it offended you I am sorry but you are looking a little to deeply. We would never harm our child nor inflict pain. We do not even believe in spankings. A movie does not consitute abuse, it makes you realize that he never should have seen it to begin with. Children not just ours watch those constantly but we chose not to allow them in our home. My take is you have some deep rooted issues about what has happened in your past and accusing us of abuse is quite un-acceptable. Again the title is about THE FORUM and JOHNNY B GOODE is one of the characters in the forum not our son nor any other child. You completely misconstrued the story.
If you thjnk I was mocking our son , I was sharing his fear which I did not find funny we are good parents and I am sorry that your child was so abused but we realized what we did immediately after he was scared we didn't do it over and over and over again.
