If You Could Take One Thing In The World With You To Heaven What Would It Be
With this hub unpublished for days and asking myself the question that was asked, " If you could take one thing with you from this World, what would it be?" I searched, thought, and slept on this question. All of us know this World has so much beauty and serenity. It also holds darkness and sorrow. When we love someone, we give our all. When our heart is broken, it cuts like a knife. Our hearts ache for that person and no matter what we try to figure out, we cannot always bring them back. Family members, pets, old flames they are just a piece of the puzzle in our lives that define who we are.
Hoping to hold them again in the physical World one last time; but the truth is we know it is not possible. Many of the things here on Earth are materialistic items that we cannot take with us, when we reach our spiritual destination. Why would we want to take all of the new found treasures on Earth, when there are treasures in heaven? So, there I was sitting in the backyard looking around at the trees, playing with our dogs while trying to figure out the answer. I thought about everything that I was compassionate about. The truth is I would not wish to take a single item with me when I go to heaven. Everything I need is already there. We do not need clothing, jewelry, cars or homes. In Revelation 18:19-21 single-pearled gates and streets of gold are awaiting us on the other side. Many blessings await and Jesus has prepared a mansion for us there. There is no need to pack a suitcase because all that we need and everyone we know will be waiting for us. There will not be judgement, death, sorrow or pain.
While we are here, God did say he would give us all of the desires of our heart, we only have to ask. When I looked around so many of my prayers had already been answered. I came up from the ashes and I am continuing to rise. Each step that is taken God is holding my hand. When I fall he lifts me up and helps guide the way. When my faith is shaken, he reminds me of what lies ahead and continues to hold me in the palm of his hand.
What is here and now, I will enjoy. I will strive to become all that God has planned for me, and will give thanks each day for the time I am here. But when I am gone all of the Worldly belongings will be left behind for others to enjoy. Clothing, jewelry, cars, bank account will not be a necessity when I get to where I am going.
Thinking more deeply, I realized that I will only be a memory to those who loved me. An ache in another souls heart. A teardrop on a handkerchief and a ray of sunshine on someone's face. I would be hope for those who knew me and love for the ones that were close to me. But where I would be going would be beautiful. So nothing will be taken with me, when I go to heaven just me, myself and I.
