Where'd You Get Those Eyes
Jeepers, Creepers where'd you get those peepers, jeepers peepers where'd you get those eyes? We are all fascinated about eyes, they come in Blue, Black, Brown, Gray, Green, Hazel, or a combination of colors that we all ooh and ahh over. The color of your eyes depends on the gene pool that was given to you from the moment you were conceived. How many of us wish that our eye color was different? We find ourselves looking at others and making comment such as ," Did you see how beautiful his eyes were?", Did you see her eyes, they were piercing blue?" " She is so lucky to have that eye color. Nowadays you can purchase color contacts if you wish to change the color of your eye, including violet which is quite an unusual color however some choose to wear them. The shape of the eye is genetically determined , there are exotic eyes, deep eyes, bright eyes, mysterious eyes, soothing eyes, happy eyes and our eyes are the window to our souls , so they say. Why are we so mystified by someones eyes? When we first meet someone all of us think we are attracted to someone because of there personality, there charm, there shape, there smile but we continually read the eyes. They tell us how someone is feeling, if they are paying attention or even interested in our conversation.
Did you know that most children are born with blue eyes that can and will darken in the first three years? A brown pigment not normally present at birth, develops with age. Children can have opposite eye color of there parents, however if both parents have brown eyes then normally the children's eyes will be brown at birth. Some are also born with irises that do not match in color due to trauma in the womb, faulty developmental pigment transport or possibly benign genetic disorder. If the eyes are examined early many things could be ruled out.
Changing of color is like the color guards waiting to change shifts, believe it or not eye color can change. What happens is when the pupil changes , the pigments in the iris compress or spread apart, changing the eye color just a little. Certain emotions can change the pupil and eye color that's why people say there eye colors change if they are excited or loving and of course eye color can change with age. If they change dramatically see an eye doctor so that he or she can determine what is happening.

I am still listening to Artie Shaw, what a great touch! I love the old big band music. My youngest son had two different colored eyes, one light blue and the other light brown. What with the red curls, he was one unusual looking character and got plenty of attention. The eye variation changed as he got older.
Dolores: I love the old music to as my father that I wrote about had plenty of record albums. When I was very small my grandmother would play them too!! I believe I am a very old soul born in the wrong era. Your son's eyes sound so cool lucky him to be so wonderfully unique. :)
If both parents have blue eyes, and the child has brown, a DNA test might be in order (-:

AE - Eyes are wonderful that is the first thing I notice about a person. You can really tell alot about someone by looking in their eyes.

AE, my youngest daughter has an interesting eye condition, they don't work as a pair but independently, which means she can sometimes squint with either eye, especially if she's tired.

Eyes, I always look at the eyes, the bluer the better, my dad, grandad, hubby and grandson all have piercing blue eyes. ME I have green.

I once knew a black man in Columbus who had one blue eye and one brown eye. I've been told mine are bedroom eyes, but they're terd brown, earthy ya know? LOL dam song anyway. now it's stuck in my head. I hate you! How ya doin' J?

I'm a photographer and one of the first things I learned was to focus on the eyes. That goes for anything with eyes, whether it's a live person, animal, or a statue. Nice article!
