Theme Songs From The 60's

Every since I had been a little girl I was always intrigued by old re-runs and songs, I used to memorize them and either hum or sing them throughout the years. The 60's was a time when little ones would cry when they watched Flipper or Lassie, every little boy wanted to be like Batman and Robin running around town with the bat-mobile solving cases while the little girls hoped to be wiggle there noses dreaming that things would disappear and reappear just like the Elizabeth Montgomery did on Bewitched. Adults would sit down and watch Gilligan's island or Petticoat Junction trying to figure out why a group of people could get stranded on an Island and wondering when they would leave. The men admired the ladies in the water tank on Petticoat Junction, who would have thought to bathe all the way up there? My father was a big Hawaii Five-O junkie and I could never understand why? He would watch the re-runs over and over again I believe now that this show marked the beginning of such shows as CSI and House people are always intrigued by mystery and case solving. Watching an oldie of The Twilight Zone when we were young was haunting and one that will never be forgotten was about an old woman who lived in a house and at the end she said, " I've got green fingers, I've got green fingers." as she rocked in her chair with an Ivy entwined around her. That was the last time our small eyeballs ever watched The Twilight Zone again until we were adults. A woman popping from a bottle? Every single man in the Country wanted a woman like that he could have his cake and eat it to. When was Tony ever going to realize that Jeannie was in love with him? He was as blind as a bat when it came to her emotions. How about Jed Clampett? It certainly would be nice of oil just popped up in our yards especially through this recession would it be nice to automatically become millionaires? The 60's those were the days for so many if only we could turn back time, well not to far back I was only a glean in my father's eye.

Batman aired on ABC from 1966 through 1968 even though it aired for only two seasons Batman became a household name and children knew who dealt with crime in Gotham City." The series had been based on the DC comic book character who held the same names. There were similiarites in the 1940 serials with the same characters and the same style.

 From 1968 through 1980 Hawaii Five-O aired its episodes and currently its episodes are still in high demand throughout the World. Filmed on location in Honolulu and Oahu Islands total episodes filmed were 278.

Rod Serling's , "The Twilight Zone the teleplay originally purchased in 1958 gave way to 156 episodes being filmed not including any sequels or movies that were written and filmed. The series has a genre of horror, science, fantasy, suspense and fiction. Noboy would ever know what was going to air from one episode to the next.

 From 1964-1972 with re-runs currently running on TVland is about a whimsical and magical family where the wife marries the mortal and all hell breaks lose when it comes to his wife being a normal human being. To this day there is still a cult following  does anyone remember the lunchboxes?

 Mission Impossible aired from 1966 through 1973 and returned from 1988 through 1990 which inspired a movie to made about the television series. Total comlpeted episodes were 171 apparently this was also a very popular program of its day. Nothing can compare to the originals of yesteryear.

 Orignally airing from 1964 through 1967  seven castaways get stranded on an Island  with someone always trying to figure out how to get off. I have always wondered how Ginger managed to wash those expensive gowns in all of the salt water? What kept her hair so stiff once she ran out of hairspray and even though the professor was so smart, why did they always portray him to be somewhat of a ding-a-ling? Apparently nobody had time to have any type of relationship due to everyone being busy trying to get off of the island.

 Originally created by Sidney Sheldon this 1960's American sitcom aired from 1965 through 1970 the first 30 episodes were in black and white this is why many have not seen them in color. The other 109 episodes that were filmed in color. How many men dreamed of having a woman pop out of a bottle and be at there beckon call? When Tony grew tired of her he was simply close the bottle, however Jeannie always had away of getting out of that bottle anyway.

 One of the most popular series of all time and still  being aired on television stations across the Country The Beverly HillBillies was one of the top 12 shows running on television in the 60's of all time. On occassion Jed would mention his deceased wife's name Sue Ellen who always was near and dear to his heart. The Clampett's were the only family that appeared to be common although wealth had been bestowed upon them. If only Ellie Mae would have had better manners.

 Everyone loved Flipper the original series aired from 1964-1967 which was a story about a bottle-nosed dolphin who lived at a Preserve and always found time to have fun and solve a few mysteries. Who could not love such a beautiful mammal. Even now when we get the chance to go to California I admire the dolphins as they glide along the boat enroute to Catalina Island.

If only they would air this one ! Originally airing from 1963-1970 the series had been seen several times on tvland but due to disputes over syndication and the changing of hands it now rest in the archives until someone decides if they can also agree to release the black and whites. Come on guys release it , there is nothing like going back in time for a little rest and relaxation.
