In our household American Idol tryouts are a common weekly occurrence to watch, recently we were watching to our amazement as a 62-year old man named Larry Platt his friends know him as the General came on to sing his song that he wrote, created and has exclusive rights too. The Song was Titled " Pants On The Ground" I do have to say that the song is quite catchy and the words are honestly truthful when it comes to our youth of today. What is the point of wearing your pants off of your bottom, with your boxer shorts hanging out and a belt buckled around your thighs? Honestly it is the most ridiculous fashion faux pax anyone could make. Many of us thought criss-cross was crazy when they wore there clothes backwards but it is nothing compared to wearing your Pants On The Ground. Larry Platt through his years as seen many youth but apparently this new generation is enough for him to say it out aloud. He has certainly taken our Country by storm there are ring-tones, T-Shirts and Larry is on youtube.com everywhere, you can even catch him on Twitter, tweeting his lyrics. Everyone knows that Larry Platt is the writer, composer and Lyricist of his work but what makes him so unique? He is a 62-year old man who has a great sense of humor who has brought something refreshing to the R&B scene personally many of us believe he is on to something, who says it is to late to start something new?
It is rumored that he has attorney's in place so if anyone is thinking about stealing his work, think again copyright infringements are costly so get ready to lose your pants because when Larry Platt and his team are done you will wish you kept your pants up and your belt buckle around your waist. If you are looking to download for free you had better be cautious he clearly states and warns you on www.youtube.com that you should not even try it.
Larry Platt means business and business it is, I certainly hope that the youth of today begin to put there pants, hats and money where there mouths our realizing that wearing there "Pants On The Ground", is just plain tacky. This is a song you must listen to it will make you laugh, make you feel good , one would be honored to listen to this one.
Thank you American Idol for giving us on of the best since the show began it just goes to show that no matter what age you are, there is always someone out there waiting and hoping to be a star.

This is a great hub AEvans and very timely too. I did not know that the music was already available for purchase. The rhythm is very catchy and it seems like that is the main attraction for right now. Hopefully the youths will get the message and begin to dress appropriately. Thanks for sharing your thoughts in this hub.

I saw this a few days ago and it was fantastic. It is very catchy and I Simon is a brain, towards the last segment he said it could be a hit and look at it now. Great job in bringing it to our attention.

I hope he is able to copyright it...or at least that no one steals it and records it first. Don't think that can happen since he made it so public on Idol. Just goes to show that the wildest idea...an old man singing about the irreverence of youth...can make you a star!

Idol is a great show although we have not watched this year yet...We were recently discussing this same topic...I cannot see how this is a fashion but it somehow is with the teens...I suppose this is why I am always in shorts :)
I also appreciated Mr. Platt for his candor. I do hope he profits from it and it becomes a really big hit, because he's saying what we have been saying for years with no effect. Maybe Mr. Platt's song will reach some. Very good hub AE.
I've been following the show season to season, and they have put some great talent out - yet they always seem to have one or two characters become overnight stars - by being odd. Wish I could be odd and earn an income from it. His song is funny, and true...lol.
