Single: How To Love Yourself On Valentine's Day
58
Many of us are married , have partners, or someone special in our lives but for those who are single Valentine's day can be dreary, depressing and down right lonely. Thinking about some of my single friends one decides to take it upon themselves to write about what a person can do for themselves when they are single. Don't think that Valentine's is just for lovers it is for everyone who understands love not only can someone in your office or workplace get something special you to can love yourself. Here are twenty-five things you can do for yourselves to make the holiday just as special as the married, engaged or dating person who is celebrating Valentine's day.
25. Send Roses to yourself! Have a note on it that reads,"From Your Secret Admirer", people will be buzzing when a dozen roses come through the door for you. Play it up enjoy it, you are loving yourself.
24. Mail yourself a card telling yourself how much you are admired, I know it sounds odd but you have to love yourself first.
23. Treat yourself to a massage, after all you can splurge , you saved money there is only you to pleasure.
22. Visit a nursing home on Valentine's Day there are lonely seniors out there who need someone to talk to. One of the best gifts, is to give back.
21. Rent your favorite movies cuddle up in your Jammie's or even nude and relax with a glass of wine. There is nobody there that will tell you to turn it off or grab the remote and decide the want something else to watch.
20. Turn up your favorite music in your car and sing out loud , who cares what others think celebrate , you are not committed.
19. Make an appointment at the Salon or Barber get the works done! If they ask you what you are doing for Valentine's day tell them, " I am loving me."
18. Make dinner for 2-4 other friends who are single invite them over and ask them to each bring a dish that is red, you certainly will find some creativity there and some laughter when they tell you what it actually is.
17. Do something nice for a neighbor male/female they could be single themselves. Hint, Hint.
16. Have a masquerade party inviting all of your friends ask them to bring someone single have them dress in red, lavender or white create old-fashioned dance cards for each one, you never know who may end up together.
15. Take a warmth bubble bath, add some candles with music and simply indulge!
14. Send a Valentine's day card to everyone you know telling them how special they are! Give and you will receive.
13. Write a poem or song and frame it on that special day! It always seems to be a conversation piece when people visit.
12. Sit out on your porch or a quite room and try painting , express yourself ! You also have an original when you are done, who knows you may end up with a masterpiece.
11. If you have pets tie little red and white ribbons on there collars, remember why you have them, they sometimes are the best gift of all! If you have a goldfish tie it around the bowl.
10. Decorate your apartment or home for the holiday , loves is in the air what better thing to do for oneself then to love?
9. Try joining a gym or if you enjoy arts and crafts get into a class, you may be amazed how many singles are in those places.
8. Checking around your local area many places have parties and dinners for singles only on Valentine's day!
7. Tell a friend who has children you will be more then happy to watch there child/children throw a party! There is nothing like seeing a child's eyes light up when you bake a gigantic heart-shaped cookie!
6. Call family members and tell them how much you love them on Valentine's Day those words will not be forgotten.
5. Throw fresh rose petals all over your bed , run and jump right into them! Relax on them and simply meditate feeling the petals against your skin. Get in tune with your inner-self.
4. Release yourself from the past on Valentine's day get rid of anything you are holding on to, it is time to let go of the past and dive into the future! You never know what is lurking around the corner.
3. Talk to a complete stranger and tell them Happy Valentine's day! Both of your faces will light up and it could lead to a knew beginning.
2. Volunteer or donate your time on Valentine's day , helping others!
1. Just indulge love yourself, do for yourself, get in touch with your inner-self you do not need anyone to do that.
Being alone can be hard but if you learn how to love yourself , treating only you or giving to others you will find that day to be really something special giving you something wonderful to smile about.

AE loved your hub. You have the biggest heart of them all.
I like the premise. You have to love yourself first.
Hmmm, wonder what my husband would say if I had flowers sent to myself?

Your right in decorating for Valentine's, really helps to put the love around you. I think this would help any of us be in the mood, to make some cards and or cookies, for ourselves and others.
I agree with you, treating yourself for Valentine's guarantees, a Happy Valentine's For You! Then if someone does something for you on top of your plans, it is an added blessing of love:)

You have some gifted imagination to come up with such a list. Excellent and great attitude to have if single.
25 and 24 made me laugh thinking of that episode of Mr. Bean when he was sitting at the table filling out Christmas cards, sealed them all up, and then headed out the door. Suddenly you see the cards come back into the apartment under the door, Mr. Bean walks back in, acts excited and surprised, and goes to open them up. :) Nice hub.
#25 is not overboard? if someone finds out it is pretty emnbarassing
Thankyou very much for this hub. I am single and thanks to you I have many ideas to follow. On a Valentines day I will try to support my sister. We are going to have a wheelchair valentines party. It would be mad as always and I am soo looking forward to it. THANK YOU- LizzyBoo

Numbers 23, 19 and 15 sound good to me :). I'm typing this quick before my husband sees it and thinks I want to be single again LOL. Thanks for the great list AEvans.
This is a great hub and I can see a lot of thoughts went into it. Thank you, AE
I like to think of the singles who are alone and my wife and I try to do something special, a card, a meal or better yet make a casual introduction to another.
Our daughter married our casual introduction...life is special and always remember God is close, we are never alone...
Blessings
