Dog Foods: Story Of The Rainbow Poo

Multi-Color What???
I recently changed dog foods just to add a little pizazz although the vet was completely against it. As humans we don't like eating the same thing over and over again so since our dogs are also our second set of kids I went completely against the grain and changed the dog food. The bag itself was colorful and it read all natural no additives added on the outside of the package. I started to feed our rambunctious Cocker Spaniels this hearty dog food and of course "Daisy" went for the green pieces and "Nazoo" went for the brown and yellow. Apparently animals sniff these flavors out as they say they are color blind but I have yet to base my opinion on that. At the beginning everything appeared the same , no change in there everyday disposal of their waste and then one day our son runs up to us, as he as always been mystified about this process and I hope that he grows out of it soon, says at the top of his lungs " Mommy look Daisy and Nazoo are pooing rainbows!!" I could not hold back my laughter as yes they were pooing rainbows bright and brilliant greens , yellows and any other color you could think of. I thank God they were not pooing blue, pink or purple. Needless to say after the bag was gone, we went back to Royal Canine and now our son says to us ," Why are they not pooing rainbows anymore, they are only pooing brown?"Who knows our son may become a Vet one day and then after he figures out what causes the change he can share the story with patients little people, and chuckle about his own little comment. Innocence through the eyes of a child is so amazing.

Kids certainly do say the darndest things and it will be one that I will keep and cherish for a lifetime. The joys of being a parent.:)

agvulpes, mmm I do like stripes every now and then but an occassional loop will do. hehehe!! I would have died if he would have even considered taken it to school :)

Me too!! Daisy was about 3lbs when we brought her home and now she is 15 and Nazoo is a King Charles Cocker the med size spaniel and when we brought him home he was 8lbs and now he is 30lbs. I think we all wish sometimes that they would stay small :):)

Thanks for the laugh! Our Lab cross has his rainbow poo days too (sounds so much more sophisticated than plain 'multi-coloured' so thank your son!) Only that's because he's a bottomless dustbin and eats just about everything!!
