The Tall Tale Signs Of A HubPages Addict

Updated on March 11, 2012

There is something mysterious and mystical about this writing site. Maybe its the layout or design of the writing platform better known at hubpages. We can't seem to place our finger on it. Could it be the color of the layout? The faces that we see when we are responding? Maybe its how much you can do or get involved with while writing on HP. Whatever it is many of us have an addiction. We can't sleep, eat or go anywhere without thinking about it. Our Internet goes down and we find ourselves explaining that we won't be here for awhile. "No worries," we tell everyone, come hell or high water we will be back on. We begin to exchange cell phone numbers so that we can text our HP friends to let them know we are alive and well. When we are away we go through withdrawals and our bodies shudder when we don't get our fix. We grow agitated with those around us and our family members are ready to have us committed! What is this unusual addiction? Chapters are being set-up as we speak to assist those who cannot tear themselves away from this compulsive behavior.

There are many tall tale signs of this addiction. If you know someone who suffers from this, please tread cautiously and at any cost do not touch their computer. Removing it can cause convulsions and fits of rage.

Tall Tale Signs Of Addiction

You know you are an addict when you can't even watch the television without logging into your account.

The picture capsule is giving you a problem. You panic and post it in the forum anxiously waiting for a response. 60 seconds seems to be the longest 60 seconds of your life.

You couldn't log-in to your account for several hours and when you finally get in you run to the forum to let everyone know about it. You find that someone had gotten there before you and began to already vent. You chime-in releasing all of the pressure that built up, being thankful that you did not throw your computer across the room.

Freaking out someone has duplicated your content. Fuming you search for the thief and are ready to lynch them if you find them.

You check-in multiple times in one day or keep your domain up to see how much money you have made. When the amount hasn't changed you post it in the Q&A of Hubpages.

Instead of checking to see if any of the rules of changed. You voice your opinion everywhere you write and argue the fact that HP has made a mistake and didn't tell anyone that the information changed.

Your cell phone app becomes your gateway to getting involved with the political thread and you don't know anything about politics.

Watching the clock at work, there is one minute before check-in time to your addiction. Head beading, hands trembling you rush out the door to get onto your laptop just to see what is happening and how many comments you have received.

You get upset when your hub as not made Hub Of The Day. You ask everyone, "what is the criteria for hub of the day?" " How did that person manage to win, when there writing was so poor." Not believing that your hub had a few errors in it too.

You worry about not reading enough. If someone comments on your hubs, you have to respect the person and comment back.

Eyes bugging, teeth chattering your hubscore is plummeting, views have hit rock bottom and you know it is Panda. In a panic you tell everybody you are leaving hubpages because your not making any money and its all their fault! Forgetting that your mind is jaded you have forgotten that all sites are effected not just HP.

You have been invited to other websites, but you can't seem to pull completely away from the site you started on.

You become defensive when anyone speaks against the site, you write on. Your horns come out and you go to battle and do not back down until you have won.

Going to sleep earlier was the norm at one time and now you find that your eyes are bugging out of your head and it is 3am. With 4 hours of sleep you look like a raccoon and try to hide the dark circles when you get up the next morning. Frazzled you drink an entire pot of coffee and get ready to greet the day.

You run yourself ragged, just trying to keep up with others who can seem to write more quickly then you.

If you have any of these signs, you have an addiction. Please seek attention as soon as possible. These signs can lead to heart palpitations, salivation, blurry vision and numbness of the behind because you have sat for to long.

Should signs worsen ,seek another hubber for hub intervention before you spiral out of control and go into convulsions.
