Top New Hubbers Of 2011

What started as a simple hub, which formally announced new hubbers, has now became a tradition on HubPages. Each year writers' read the work of many new hubbers and vote for the top 100 of that year. This past year has been full of joy and sorrow. Millions still lost their homes, jobs were far and few in between and the news had the audacity to say sells were up, but yet Walm-Mart and Sears are closing over a 100 stores.
We at HubPages lost one of our nearest and dearest friends Earnesthub in October. At times he was controversial but many of us counted him as a friend. His legacy at HubPages will not be forgotten, his hubs still remain in our community. We will miss you.
On the joyful side a 99 year-old man chose to divorce his 96 year-old wife over a 60 year-old love affair. Our troops finally came home after being in Iraq for an Eternity and quite a few of us long time hubbers were banned from the forums either for using our other account and not abiding by the rules or yapping our gums and getting involved with a heated conversation. Happy to report many of us have a wonderful sense of humor and bounce back like troopers!
It is now time for his Royal Highness Website Examiner to bequeath his Royal crown to another new hubber. Are they male or female? The parliament has spoken and votes were cast, the count was endless. Thank you to all who took time to contribute and vote.

You will find that there will be hubbers who joined at the very end of 2010 or the very ending of 2011. Don't get your pants in an uproar should you find that there time on Hubpages does not fall into 365 days or simply put 12 months in a year. So many votes so much fun, my work was not completely done. Need I say that these hubbers ran close with others and this year I will not disclose how many votes, but let's just say they need to be mentioned. Hey AEvans, I guess you don't remember, but will have to look up your own hubs to find out. I don't need to bequeath my Crown, as you put it, because one this hub is about the New Hubbers and that's not a Crown I ever had. As for my Royal Crown for the King of the Forums? I'm not sure I will be giving that up so easily, nor do I think that I will be giving up my other Hubbie Award, as the most likely to get banned from the forums.
I do appreciate your thinking that it was my Crown that New Hubbers would obtain, but it's the wrong Crown. LOL! Congrats to Homesteadbound! Voted up and Awesome! :)

@ All it has been brought to my attention that there was some error on this hub. Thanks to all of you I was able to make corrections.
Placement is determined on votes so hubbers were placed into the correct position. Everyone's names were placed on an excel spreadsheet so duplication had taken place, which I apologize for. There were e-mails that were sent that had the actual hubbers names placed as votes. I did not check each individual so I did not realize that a couple of hubbers were one in the same. There were concerns about longevity however I will not remove those
hubbers that have already been recognized by their peers.
Next year here is what will happen.
1. When casting your vote for your favorites for 2012 please provide their pen name and not their actual personal name, unless of course that is their pen name.
2. 16 months or less will be the criteria for 2012. This gives those an opportunity who came last quarter of 2011 to be placed into the top hubbers for 2012.
I will of course remind everyone at the end of this year and have it duly noted on the excel spreadsheet for 2012 which is safely tucked away for another 11 months. I hope this clears the air for all of those concerned.

Many writers on this list are definitely showing a lot of heart in their hubpages. There are still many that I have not come across. I am excited to visit and congratulate those hubbers as well. Hubpages is a sensational place to meet people & to author your written works. As a new hubpages author what stood out to me most at the very tail end of 2011 was how people communicate here. I was blown away at the integrity of this social community, how the staff help others, how the Hubpages Elite help new comers, and how people are so kind to one another for the most part.
Making communications with real people is my true intention on here as a writer, & is what matters most to me on hubpages.
I'm definitely happy to see that so many people have become successful here in their writing as well as myself, but I just love the connections we're all making with one another much more. Reading so many hubs in just 4 months has changed my entire outlook on digital life altogether.
We do have hope after all in a digital sense or should I say on the web, this is my overall conclusion and 2012 is going to be the year I redefine myself both digitally & in the real world thanks to hubpages.
I would like to say thanks for writing such a great hub @ AEvans, and for sharing it with us all, but most of all I wanna thank all the hubpages staff, developers, owners, and hubpages Elite for giving it their all to make such a powerful network happen.

What an idiotic thing for Frank to say. You will find my name listed all over hubpages in comments or referenced in hubs where I am FloraBreenRobinson or FloraBreen (Breen is a middle name only, not part of my first name) and no comment at all from me about the mistake. Other times like I did here, I just gently corrected the mistake from within a comment about the hub itself in general.

i appreciate being on this list, but I'm not sure i'm a new hubber. Even though I've written 90% of my hubs and gained 95% of my followers in 2011, I actually wrote my first hub in July of 2010.

Here I am up late again. I was asleep but woke up and can't get back to sleep. I want everyone to read Sunshine's 100th hub and look very carefully at Frank's comment to her. She thought he was being funny, but now we can see he was dead serious. If I wanted to lose every supporter I ever had here on hubpages and every supporter I might have had on this site, I would make exactly the comments he has made. He sounds like he thinks he is a better writer than Shakespeare and how dare he be mentioned among mere mortals...

Hi AEvans ... I nearly missed this! New hubber VendettaVixen was kind enough to point out that I had actually made the list. I didn't believe her until she sent me the link.
At number 100 I feel immensely privileged to have made the list at all in my first year on HP and I'm very grateful for all your hard work that went into compiling it.
It is a real boost especially to find that I am on there with so many of HP's most experienced and prolific writers, many of whom I follow.

I was going to ask those commenting that they were going to check-out those hubbers who made the list, to please be sure to check-out the 'honorable mentions' as well. I was thinking that I did pretty well making the 'honorable mention' list because I've only been here 4 months, have less than 50 hubs, and only 66 followers so I was comfortable asking all to view the 'honorable mention's' hubs as well - then I checked homesteadbound & missolive's stats . . . they haven't been here any longer than I have but with far more followers. So, what an accomplishment - congratulations to those at the top.
