Why Did God Create Man
In the beginning God created the Heavens and Earth. Genesis 1:1. If you are a believer you know how the world began. You don't doubt that God created man in his own image, but there are those who are seeking answers.
So why is it that God created life when man did not ask for it?
Simple. God did not create man for our benefit, he created man for his own glory. How could man have asked for anything when he did not exist? When there isn't existence there isn't any choice. We have been given choices and 'free will' because we are here on Earth. All that is created is in God's image not ours.
Since we are created in his image, it is 'free will' that has given man the capacity to imagine; but he did not tell us to act poorly to our brothers and sisters. It is written in James 2:8 that we are to love our neighbors as ourselves. In James 4:11 it is written that we are not to slander one another nor pass judgment on each other. When we do that we are criticizing God's law. We are supposed to obey his word and live by his teachings.
There are those who do not believe and they ask , " why did man create God?" This question has been challenged multiple times and it isn't that the Atheist are trying to ask, "why did man create God?" What they are trying to say is , " Why do we as Christians have to be so judgemental?" Since the Atheist is often asked, " why they do not believe," they will use a argumentative question that will always get a rise from a believer. But its not our place as Christians to place judgement on others? In Matthew 7:1-5 we are not supposed to be judgemental and not hypocritical. Matthew 18: 15-17 We are supposed to lovingly point out a sin and not force our words of understanding upon anyone in hopes they will repent.
So what is in this for God?
All that God wants from us if we are believers is to dwell in us and be active in our lives. He wants us to develop ourselves and draw closer to him that is all he asks. From Genesis to Corinthians it talks about worship and prayer. Psalms 100:2 talks about worship through singing. Colossians 3:16 tells us to dwell in Christ with thankfulness in are hearts.
You see God asks us to come in prayer. He doesn't care if you are standing, sitting, bowing or have your eyes closed or open. Ecclesiastes 5:2 lets us know that we should not be hasty with words, but be clear and to the point. God hears all that we say and see all that we do.
Why bother to pray or worship?
Because God will hear your voice when you pray. Even people who do not believe have called upon Christ at one time or another. They will exclaim out loud, "Oh My God!" or "Jesus Christ." when they have been shocked or are in terror. There are times when we believe our prayers have gone unanswered; but sometimes God only wants us to draw closer to him. in Mark 11:21 it tells us to have faith in God.
God is also not egotistical . He does not need us to worship him. We need to worship so that we can find joy. His grace enables us to escape the bondage of sin. So we can have salvation that he is waiting to give us. John 4:23-24 is only asking that we worship him in spirit and truth.
We as Christians need to begin to really worship the Lord and understand the word before we get into a boxing match with non-believers. When we are in the presence of God we are saved by Grace. If we learn to walk like Christ, we can also lead others to believe.
