Why Use Natural Remedies? Ancient Chinese Secrets You Must Know
68
For over 5,000 years the traditional Chinese have a philosophical belief that life and activity of individual human beings have an intimate relationship on all levels with the environment as cited from www.wikipedia.org. There are regional and philosophical differences between those who practice and schools where they are taught, which leads to opposite differences in practice and theory. The principles of Chinese medicine are influenced by Buddhism, Taoism and Neo-Confucianism. Dr. Manfred Porkert placed Chinese medicine into perspective when he stated, " traditional Chinese medicine constitutes by far the most comprehensive, coherent, and effective body of medical science beyond these limits." he also concluded with stating, " Consequently respecting and applying the methods of Chinese medicine in order to verify and apply the mature and rational data of this very medicine is not a matter of historical style but an ineluctable necessity of elementary logic."

I love learning about all this. With hearbs you can never learn enough or know enough. Thank you.
Great Hub and natural over man made any day, God created all this weird and wonderful plants for a reason.
Living in the wilderness sometime ago one of the first things I learned was living off of the land. Upset stomach pop a juniper berry under your tongue, gone in a few minutes. Upset stomach fireweed flowers the list goes on. We can fly a man to the moon why would cinnamon not be good for you.
Everything has its order in nature...
Blessings
Yes, we'd have far fewer health related problems here in the West if we learned to live in harmony with nature, as the Chinese and other Asian societies do.
Many here still consider it all 'humbug'. But is it 'humbug' that Japanese women have practically none of the menopausal difficulties we in the west do, simply due to their consumption of soya? Good reason to start preparing food with soya before such problems ever set in, but how many western women do it?
And Dong Quai, which you mention here, works wonders (I use it myself).
I commend anyone who makes us aware of the intelligent alternatives, which are often fundamentally more effective than western medicine. It is more effective to treat the root cause rather than the symptom. And prevention is better than cure.
Great Hub!
Yes, they do work or it would not have been used for 1000s of years or have positive studies. I use some, not all as I am unaware of some you mentioned. Thanks
Good work...
Thank you for putting this Hub out. I haven't used many of these. So your knowledge has helped. Great Content.
Thanks
Ron
As Always Also Rprcarz50 Keep on Hubbing
I have been getting a lot of new information from these 'herb' hubs. This one was great! I love my green tea and cinnamon! I guess that is why they call it ancient "chinese secret" right?
One of the things that encourages me, Juliana, is that medical professionals, such as yourself, are beginning to see and report the virtues of these types of remedies. Always good to read your stuff!
Great Hub!!!
I have my diploma in holistic nutritional therapy and natural remedies are better than the modern day suppressive treatments because they work faster and pose less risk than pills and other treatments. However it is individualistic but it works for most of us in the long run.
I love this hub. One thing guys all though liquorice has its plus sides it also has its bad sides taken in moderation because of its high iron content it can cause high blood pressure or other complaints, but the other herbs and such are fine.
Informative! I have often wondered about natural remedies & holistic medicine. It sounds very beneficial. Now all I have to do is convince myself I like tea...:)
Hi have sent you an email with some more info lol xx
AEvans, great hub, once again. I use herbal remedies daily. There is so much to learn and know about herbs. As they say the cure for every ailment can be found here on our planet, if we haven't destroyed them yet...
kindest regards Zsuzsy
Echinacea tablets are fantastic I have two a day and I never get a cold what so ever, plus the energy you get just appears from no where lol :)
Its true, the herbs and natural remedies are so much better for you and your immune system because echinacea boosts the immune system and helps the body to fight off symptoms of sickness and such which is brilliant and natures own.
If you have any questions on any of the other herbs please ask me :)
AEvans, This is a great list of herbs and an excellent hub.
Cool! Next step is to discover what combination of these herbs could reverse the aging process! Ready? Just kidding ... but you never know!
Cheers!
Jeez...and yet the abusive psycho is probably still here.
Great tips, thanks!
I hope you didn't think I meant BC when I said that, I meant the Susan person
I voted! I am one of those that believe in it and use it allll the time! I don't know what I would do without it! Great hub AEvans! Looks like you are getting a great response!
Thanks AE, yer a lil diamond and a friend always !!
It's great knowing more about herbs and the medicinal qualities. I'm a firm believe in chamomille (sp?) tea. Btw, check out my Hub on my 100th Hub, Aevans, and you're prominent on there!
Informative Hub -- I'm definitely a fan of herbs and use a herb formula for Type II diabetes rather than normally prescribed medicines. It works -- and also drives the doc crazy! Best, Sis
Thanks for the info, as I have fund memories of my parents and how they used them. I really don't use them nowadays but sometimes I wish I would.
Very well written and informative hub. You've touched upon some herbs that I have never heard of and find quite interesting. I wish insurance companies would recognize support herbal medicines. As many of them can be quite costly.
Great Job!
Sage
Wow AE this kind of stuff really interests me.
Great hub AEvans. I use supplements to stay as young and beautiful as I do. I have ginseng but I cut dropped it because it is good for longevity but not so good for "immediate bursts of energy" (supposedly). I've found out though that my sprinting (on the bicycle) is not good even when I do without ginseng. Thanks!
Hi AEvans,
An excellent hub on herbal remedies. Natural herbal remedies were the first thing humans used to cure diseases. Modren medicines are not that old. There are 1000's of useful herbal remedies.
Thanks for this very informative hub. Have a wonderful day.
I'm a believer in natural remedies. I was miserable suffering from heartburn when I came across a claim that apple cider vinegar helped some conquer heartburn. With nothing to lose I tried it and it was nothing short of a miracle cure. While a bit unpleasant to drink vinegar daily I started taking apple cider vinegar supplements and that also worked great.
nice

I am into herbs, and yet I am always learning something new. I avoid liquorice because it raises blood pressure, so its not good for those of us who have had BP issues. I add cinammon to my tea everyday, as it so healthy, even for sugar levels, and makes my tea taste "gourmet".
Have bookmarked this hub- I love anything natural! :)
